Community Guidelines

Amigify only works if it feels safe on both sides of the conversation. These are the rules, in plain language, for everyone who uses it.

Treat the other person as a person

Companions are doing a job that takes real emotional effort, and users are often reaching out on a hard day. Rudeness, contempt and abuse end a conversation immediately.

No harassment or hate

Attacks based on race, caste, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age are not tolerated. Neither are threats, stalking or repeated unwanted contact after someone has ended a conversation.

No sexual coercion

Do not pressure anyone into sexual conversation, and never send sexual content to someone who has not asked for it. Any sexual content involving minors results in a permanent ban and a report to the authorities.

Keep it on Amigify

Do not ask for or share phone numbers, social handles or payment details for off-platform contact. It removes every protection we can offer and is the most common setup for a scam.

Don't record or repost

Screenshots, screen recordings and transcripts of a conversation must not be shared without the other person's explicit consent.

Be who you say you are

Nicknames are fine — that's the point. Impersonating a specific real person, a companion, or an Amigify staff member is not.

For companions, specifically

  • You are a listener, not a clinician. Never diagnose, never advise on medication, and never present yourself as a licensed professional.
  • Escalate a crisis. If someone describes intent to harm themselves or another person, share the crisis resources on our safety page and flag the conversation through the in-app report so our team sees it.
  • Never solicit. Don't ask for gifts, hearts, or payment outside the app. Hearts are something a user chooses to send, unprompted.
  • Don't keep what you hear. Conversations are private. Do not discuss an identifiable user anywhere outside a moderation report.

What happens when someone breaks a rule

  1. A report is filed. Either person can report a conversation with one tap. Blocking is instant and does not wait for a review.
  2. A human reviews it. A moderator reads only what is needed to assess the report.
  3. We act. Depending on severity: a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, and doxxing skip straight to a permanent ban.
  4. You can appeal. Email appeals@amigify.com within 30 days and a different reviewer will look at it.

Reporting something urgent

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then email safety@amigify.com so we can act on our side.
